Family trips to Glasgow in the school holidays were always filled with puzzles and word games. Granny MacKenzie never missed an episode of Countdown and would bring out the Boggle for a quick game before tea. After eating, Kaylie would try her hand at back issues of logic puzzle magazines, though without much success. (Don’t worry, after over a decade in the puzzles department, she’s got the hang of them now!)

From Kaylie’s mother’s side came an abiding love of murder mysteries. She started young, listening to books-on-tape of Agatha Christie stories in the car. From there, she discovered Sherlock Holmes and Harriet Vane. Her favourite thing about her job is that she can listen to audiobooks while solving sudokus and wordsearches!
